Opposition MP accuses Armenian authorities of 'rampant lies'
Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has accused Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his government of “rampant lying” over the unilateral concessions to Azerbaijan.
In a social media post on Thursday, Abrahamyan, who represents the Pativ Unem faction, rejected the false assurances that Azerbaijani forces would withdraw from occupied Armenian territories in return for the handover of four border villages in Tavush Province to Baku.
"Around a year ago, when Azerbaijan advanced towards the village of Tegh and occupied sovereign Armenian territories, government members assured that talks were underway with Azerbaijani on the return of its troops to their initial positions,” he wrote.
“The residents of Aravus, Tegh and Kornidzor villages know better than anyone else what happened next, because the Azerbaijanis refused to retreat, while hectares of Armenian agricultural lands turned into Azerbaijani firing points.
“These men are now spreading similar lies to convince the people of Voskepar, Baghanis and, in general, everyone that after the unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan, it will pull out of the Armenian settlements occupied in different times. The authorities have resorted to rampant lies to carry out their anti-national activities,” the MP stated.
