Armenia calls for dialogue in Middle East amid escalating tensions
Escalating tensions in the Middle East are a cause for grave concern, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said on Sunday following Iran's retaliatory strike against Israel.
“We urge to prioritize dialogue. Further confrontation must be avoided,” the ministry said in a post on X.
Iran launched a large-scale drone and missile attack against Israel late on Saturday in retaliation for an Israeli strike against its consulate in Damascus, Syria, earlier this month. Israel's military said "99%” of the more than 300 projectiles were intercepted by Israel and its partners.
