Political analyst warns of 'highly explosive' situation in Armenia
Failure to remove Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from power and conduct snap elections in Armenia would lead to a “highly explosive” domestic political situation in the country in the coming days or weeks, political analyst Suren Surenyants claims.
In a social media post on Friday, he stated the protest movement led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan gave Pashinyan an opportunity to leave “peacefully and honorably”.
"If Pashinyan does not use this "window of opportunity", more painful developments will follow, including solutions typical of revolutionary scenarios. Pashinyan can still make a decision before facing fierce street protests weeks and months later,” the analyst said.
