Yerevan handed over to Baku completely agreed draft of peace treaty, FM says
Armenia has handed over to Azerbaijan the completely agreed draft of a peace treaty and is waiting for Baku’s response, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said.
“The tenth edition of the draft peace treaty submitted to Azerbaijan includes the entire agreed text, completely agreed articles or agreed parts of articles,” he told a joint news conference with his Luxembourgian counterpart in Yerevan on Monday.
At the same time, Mirzoyan pointed to Azerbaijan’s efforts to push other issues and preconditions into the peace process with Armenia.
“We believe that there is a real opportunity to sign a peace agreement in the shortest possible timeframe and open up a new chapter of lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus,” the minister said, adding all other pending issues should be addressed at a later time.
