Armenia wins six medals at World Sambo Championships
Armenian sambo fighters captured six medals, including two silver and four bronze, at the 2024 World Sambo Championships held in Astana, Kazakhstan, on November 8-10, the sports ministry reported.
Arsen Khandzhian and Mayis Nersisyan claimed silver medals in the 98kg and 64kg weight categories, respectively.
Hamlet Sukiasyan, Arman Avanesyan, Anna Mkrtchyan and David Hovsepyan, an Armenian athlete displaced from Artsakh who competed neutrally under the International Sambo Federation banner, bagged bronze medals.
