ARF Armenia leader expresses concern over situation in Aleppo
Ishkhan Saghatelyan, the ARF Armenia chair and an opposition Hayastan faction MP, has expressed deep concern about the situation in Armenian-populated Aleppo, Syria, seized by Jihadists and their Turkish-backed allies.
In a social media post on Saturday, Saghatelyan, who also heads the Armenia-Syria Friendship Group, said he discussed the developments in Syria in phone calls with Syria's Ambassador to Armenia Nora Arissian, a member of the Syrian parliament, Maria Gabrielyan, and Armenian Prelacy of Beroea spokesperson Vrej Yacoubian.
“On behalf of myself and the ARF Armenia, I expressed my support to the friendly Syrian people and Syrian Armenians, who are facing new aggression instigated by terrorist forces and centers in these tough times, expressing confidence that the Syrian Arab Republic will overcome this challenge,” Saghatelyan added.
