
578 people hospitalized with pneumonia in Armenia in one week
Acute respiratory infections remained prevalent across Armenia from January 27 to February 2.
According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 9,105 patients sought primary healthcare for respiratory illnesses during the fifth week of 2025. This marks a 1.1-fold decrease from the previous week and the same period in 2024. Children aged 0-18 accounted for 74.7% of cases.
Meanwhile, 1,022 patients (67.9% of whom were children) were diagnosed with pneumonia at primary healthcare facilities, showing little change from the previous week.
A total of 863 patients were hospitalized with respiratory infections, 92.8% of them children, marking a slight decrease from 932 cases of the previous week. Pneumonia-related hospitalizations stood at 578, with children accounting for 67.4%.
