Power outage halts Tsaghkadzor ropeway, stranding passengers

A sudden power outage disrupted operations of the Tsaghkadzor ropeway on Friday, leaving dozens of passengers stranded mid-air and on the slopes, ArmLur.am reported.

According to the outlet, the electricity supply failure caused several ropeway chairs to stop between stations, forcing people to remain suspended above ground. Others were left on the mountain at different points of their ascent or descent.

Witnesses told the outlet that the incident sparked panic among some passengers, particularly families with children. Staff on site reportedly worked urgently to restore service, and the ropeway was fully halted for a while before operations resumed.
