Armenia, Albania to intensify bilateral ties
Armenian Ambassador Gagik Ghalachyan visited the Republic of Albania June 20-22.
On June 21 Ambassador G. Ghalachyan handed his credentials to Albanian President Bamir Topi. During the face-to-face talk which followed the handing ceremony, viewpoints were exchanged on the ways of intensification of the bilateral ties.
According to MFA, the same day the Armenian Ambassador met with Albanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ilir Meta, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Albanian parliament Fatos Beja, and other high officials.
At the meeting with Ilir Meta the Ambassador signified the implementation of the consultations’ mechanism between the foreign departments of the two countries, which will afford an opportunity to indicate the prospective directions of the bilateral cooperation, to undertake the formation of the legal-contractual field. The Albanian Foreign Minster received Minister Edward Nalbandyan’s invitation to visit Armenia.
At the talk with the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Albanian parliament the parties attached importance to the development of inter-parliamentary ties, discussed the prospects of cooperation of the parliament members of the two countries.
Taking into consideration, that the RA NA Speaker invited the Speaker of the Albanian parliament, the parties reached agreement to undertake steps in the direction of bringing the visit to life.
