Project ‘Support to Democratic Governance in Armenia’ launches in Armenia
Today, a formal opening ceremony marked the official start of the EU-funded project “Support to Democratic Governance in Armenia.” The project is implemented by the British Council. It is funded by the European Union and the total value of the project is EUR 949,670.
Armenian Minister of Justice Hovhannes Manukyan noted: “The project will contribute to the introduction of the democratic governance system in Armenia. The project is directed to social sector and is aimed to strengthen its resources. It also contains provisions related to the regulation of the information field.”
According to him, the project is important because it is enhancing the involvement of society in decision-making in our country.
The overall objective of the project is to foster the process of bringing Armenia closer to the European Union and strengthening democracy and good governance through support to democratic institutions, civil society and increasing awareness of the Armenian population on the process of EU-Armenia relations.
