Armenian parliament to hold hearings on EEU Accession Treaty
The Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the Armenian National Assembly held a meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Artak Zakaryan.
The Committee made a decision to hold, on November 24, at 12:00 pm, parliamentary hearings on the theme “On the Treaty of May 29, 2014 on the Accession of the Republic of Armenia to the Eurasian Economic Union” jointly with the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs at the NA Session Hall.
Then the deputies debated the package of bills “On Condemning the Genocide of the Pontic Greeks, Assyrians, Yezidis and Other Nations in the Ottoman Empire” and “On Amending the Law on Holidays and Memorial Days of the Republic of Armenia” authored by MP Zaruhi Postanjyan.
The author proposes declaring December 9 in the law “On Holidays and Memorial Days of the Republic of Armenia” as a memorial day of the victims of the genocide of the Pontic Greeks, Assyrians, Yezidis and other nations in the Ottoman Empire, as well as condemning the genocide of the abovementioned nations.
The members of the Committee expressed viewpoints on the package under debate.
The Committee made a decision to continue the meeting on November 20 at 9:30 am, the press service of the parliament reported.
