Armenia, Russia hold political consultations
On December 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry hosted political consultations on security, arms control and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction between Armenia and Russia.
The meeting was co-chaired by head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry’s Department for Arms Control and International Security Samvel Mkrtchyan and Director of Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control of the Russian Foreign Ministry Mikhail Ulyanov.
The sides discussed the situation in the field of conventional arms control, nuclear disarmament, and creation of nuclear-free zones.
They also touched upon the Iranian nuclear talks.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the expansion of collaboration in various international platforms, and outlined new areas for cooperation, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
