Armenian, Italian FMs discuss bilateral relations
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is in Italy in the delegation led by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, on Friday met with Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni, the press service of Armenian Foreign Ministry reports.
The two Ministers discussed the ongoing efforts towards the development of the bilateral relations, and expressed confidence that the Armenian President’s visit will contribute to the strengthening and expansion of cooperation between Armenia and Italy.
They spoke about the expansion of the bilateral legal-contractual field, the strengthening of multilateral collaboration and the regular consultations between the Armenian and Italian Foreign Ministries.
Mr Nalbandian presented the events to be held in Armenia and worldwide to commemorate the Armenian Genocide centenary. He stressed that this symbolic anniversary should serve the important mission of preventing genocides in the future and Armenia is working actively in this direction.
Edward Nalbandian and Paolo Gentiloni also discussed the Armenia-EU cooperation, regional and international matters.
Edward Nalbandian briefed his Italian counterpart on the joint efforts by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards an exclusively peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
