Saudi-led alliance mulls humanitarian truce in Yemen
The Arab alliance waging an air campaign against Houthi militias in Yemen is considering calling a truce to allow humanitarian relief, al-Arabiya news channel quoted Monday the Saudi foreign minister as saying.
The newly appointed minister Adel al-Jubeir warned Yemen's Houthis against exploiting any truce in the country in its favor.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is holding consultations with members of the alliance in defense of legitimacy in Yemen and all countries that support it, to create specific areas inside Yemen to deliver humanitarian supplies, where all aerial operations will stop at specific times to allow these supplies in, as stipulated by U.N. Security Council resolution 2216,” Jubeir said in a statement.
