Serzh Sargsyan meets Ukrainian Armenologist Irina Gayuk
President Serzh Sargsyan met Ukrainian historian, Armenologist, creator of the Armenian Culture in Ukraine encyclopedia and author of over seventy scientific articles Irina Gayuk.
Welcoming the guest, the President praised her scientific activities dedicated to the Armenian nation and Armenian history and expressed gratitude for the important work which Mrs. Gayuk as an Armenologist has been doing in Ukraine for many years. Serzh Sargsyan underscored, in particular, professional and dedicated work in revealing through the Armenian Culture in Ukraine encyclopedia facts related to the Armenian-Ukrainian relations, friendship between the two nations, and comprehensive information about the Armenian cultural heritage in Ukraine. Considering all mentioned above, President Serzh Sargsyan awarded Irina Gayuk Movses Khorenatsi Medal for her contribution to the strengthening and development of the Armenian-Ukrainian relations. The President of Armenia congratulated Mrs. Gayuk on receiving the high state award and wished success in her future activities.
Irina Gayuk expressed gratitude for such a high assessment of her work and stressed she has been doing her job with great pleasure. She said that she deeply respects the Armenian people and its centuries-long history and culture. The Ukrainian scientist also noted that there is still much to be done and she will continue within the scope of her abilities to contribute to the important mission of presenting the Armenian cultural heritage and history to the world, presidential press service reported.
