Sulheddin Akper, the leader of the Free Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, said the Azerbaijani society demands the Defense Ministry not to hide the negative phenomena in the Azerbaijan army and the soldiers’ deaths, and provide accurate and quick information about all the incidents, according to Moderator.az.

The current information wars taking place between Armenia and Azerbaijan are of strategic nature, Akper told Moderator.az.

“Here, the sides confront in all the spheres. Those wars are taking place in political and diplomatic, financial and economical, socio-psychological and other directions. Today, the information wars are one of the main directions,” the expert said. In case the authorities in Azerbaijan fail to provide the people with accurate information, they will also lose the information war to Armenia, he added.

Earlier, commenting on Azerbaijan Defense Ministry’s recent statements that it would not comment anything for the outlets, which circulate the publications of their Armenian colleagues, the well-known Azerbaijani journalist Chingiz Sultansoy said that such a stance demonstrates the weakness of the Ministry. The journalist regretted that the press service of the Defense Ministry of the AR is not able to cope with its obligations properly. He highlighted that people in Azerbaijan do not trust in the information provided by the Defense Ministry, and, as a result, lose their trust for that agency.
