Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s first financial assistance transferred to Kessab Armenians
On April 13, $63,060 was transferred to the emergency authorities of Syria’s Latakia – the first financial assistance of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund to the Armenians of Kessab, press service of Armenian Foreign Ministry reported. The money was transferred through Armenia’s Embassy in Syria.
The Armenians of Kessab, who are in a tough situation, express their gratitude to Armenia’s President, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, people of Armenia and all Armenians for their moral and financial support, the report said.
On March 21, the Armenian-populated town of Kessab in Syria was attacked by armed bands from three points in Turkey. The Armenian residents were forced to abandon the town and were evacuated to neighboring Latakia.
