Ethnographer: After Kessab events, tensions increased in Aleppo
Following the attacks on Kessab, tensions increased in the Armenian-populated districts of Aleppo, Hakob Cholakyan, ethnic Armenian ethnographer from Kessab, told a press conference in Yerevan.
“Nor Gyugh district was ruined and the situation is critical in terms of security and living conditions,” he said.
“The most dangerous thing is that we keep silent and do not speak about their condition. The Armenian community of Syria, whose heart is Aleppo, was a great educational and ethnic source for the Diaspora. All this is turning into ashes now. It is terrible,” Cholakyan said.
