Azerbaijani propaganda continues to mislead its population through media

It turned out that a group of Azerbaijani users under false Armenian names opened fake profiles in social networks and spread disinformation, trying, in vain, to sow panic among Armenian users.

Media expert Samvel Martirosyan urged Armenian users to be vigilant. "For example, on one of the allegedly Armenian user’s page such kind of post was published: "Just now, my brother called from Askeran and told us about the death of nine Armenian soldiers," said media expert speaking of his observations in social networks.

The Azerbaijani propaganda also uses these fake profiles to solve internal problems. According to Azerbaijani site haqqin.az, in the comments to the article, concerning the statement of the NKR Defense Army, published on the site of "Novosti Armenia", in connection with the recent incidents on the contact line, a user named "Aram Davidyan" wrote a message in defense of the arrested of human rights activist Leyla Yunus.

From this one comment the Azerbaijan site blew up a big material saying that these events are associated with the arrest of the Azerbaijani human rights activist. "Why is the idea of retaliation for the arrest of Leyla Yunus introduced into the consciousness of the Armenian population, expressed in recent acts of sabotage against Azerbaijan?". Surly, there is no such a thought introduced into the Armenian society. Moreover, in Armenia there is hardly anybody who knows about the arrest of the Azerbaijani human rights activist, and those who know it, are not interested in her fat at all. However, it is evident that Azerbaijani propaganda is trying to create this kind of impression among its community.

In this regard, the detention of the conflictologist Arif Yunus, husband of Leyla Yunus, passed smoothly, while he was trying to pass her food in jail.

Azerbaijani media do not shun of falsifications as well. Thus, the Azerbaijani news agency “1news.az” quoting the website "Gazeta.ru" writes that "Armenia is looking for volunteers" to send to the front line. Allegedly "Gazety.ru" correspondent in Armenia reports that "at the moment 100 volunteers from Berdzor have been gathered." However, opening the original variant of the information one can easily detected the distortion of the source. Thus, the Russian site reports that "the first 100 volunteers, residents of Berdzor, have left for the forefront. The volunteers are ready to stay in duty, and if necessary, take part in hostilities." As you can see, there is no word about sending people to front by force, as the Azerbaijani site tries to present it.

Another Azerbaijani site «ANSPress» ascribes not existing statements to the vice-speaker of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov. "The Azerbaijanis will soon seize Yerevan, and you all are thinking of your stomachs. Forget about everything. We must be together and united," Azerbaijani site allegedly quotes Sharmazanov. In the original version, the vice-speaker says:
"You see that the armed forces of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, can inflict a counterattack to the rival when they are united, and in this sense, I believe that we need to solve two problems. The first problem is brilliantly solved by our defense forces - thanks to our young heroes, honor and glory to all of our fallen heroes and their families. The second: All of us, - politicians – we must understand that in this situation we should not play in government and opposition, we must all be united, and from different platforms must be able to ensure the victory that our armed forces have brought us,” Sharmazanov said.

In its turn, Azerbaijani news agency APA spread misinformation about the fact that on August 2, at night, the Azerbaijani troops had killed 40 Armenian special squad soldier that were getting ready for sabotage. They had allegedly destroyed also vehicles and tents. Surely, there was no official confirmation from the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, just as in the case of previous disinformation spread about the loss of 71 Armenian soldiers, no photo or video evidence was brought by the Azerbaijani side.
Moreover, any sane person understands that, first of all, 40 special squad soldiers will never concentrate in the front line. Second, they would not make an easily detectable camp next to their tents and vehicles while getting prepared for sabotage. Third, the Azerbaijani side claiming about dozens of victims from the Armenian side, didn’t find a single trophy for public demonstrations.

Broadcasting for the Azerbaijani audience Avropa.info in its turn issued a photo-collage with pictures of Armenian soldiers killed at different times and under different circumstances, allegedly giving them for 9 losses in the recent incidents. However the banal search in Google detects the Azerbaijani forgery.
