Estonia eager to boost ties with Armenia – Ambassador
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with Ambassador of Estonia to Armenia Priit Turk on Tuesday, the press service of the government reported.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the Prime Minister said that Armenia attaches great importance to the enhancement of relations with Estonia.
“There is a great potential for deepening bilateral cooperation. I am convinced that through joint effort - business forums, reciprocal visits - we will be able to expand bilateral relations in economy and other fields,” Hovik Abrahamyan said.
The Ambassador said for his part that his country is also eager to boost ties with Armenia. According to Priit Turk, Armenia has made substantial progress toward improving its business sector, which is an additional incentive for implementing joint trade and economic development programs.
Then the parties discussed issues related to the development of EU-Armenia relations. Hovik Abrahamyan stressed that Armenia would appreciate having the European Union’s continued assistance on the way to strengthening democracy, promoting human rights and building civil society.
As they discussed regional issues, including the Karabakh peace process, the interlocutors stressed that the conflict should be settled peacefully, through negotiations within the OSCE Minsk Group.
