Zhoghovurd: Syunik governor’s brother found sane, faces up to 5 years in prison
‘Zhoghovurd’ paper says that Seyran Khachatryan, the brother of governor of Armenia’s Syunik province, was found sane by doctors, which means that he will not be able to avoid responsibility for the scuffle in the city of Goris on May 2 this year.
On August 11 the governor’s brother was taken to the Kapan city mental hospital after being diagnosed with phrenoplegia.
He was ‘hospitalized’ immediately after it became known the charge against Seyran Khachatryan and his son, Eyner Khachatryan, was toughened, with arrest being chosen as a measure of restraint.
Both face up to 5 years in prison, but an investigation is still underway.
