Karabakh authorities in no hurry to respond to letter of Robert Walter, PACE rapporteur on NKR conflict
The authorities of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic are in no hurry to respond to the letter of Robert Walter, a member of the PACE Political Affairs and Democracy Committee. R. Walter is preparing a report controversially called “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno Karabakh and Other Occupied of Azerbaijan”.
As was reported, Robert Walter sent an official letter to the authorities of Nagorno Karabakh. In his letter, he asked permission to visit Stepanakert so as to complete his report.
In an interview with Panorama.am, the spokesman for the president of NKR, David Babayan once again voiced the position of the NKR’s authorities on the report being prepared by Robert Walter: “A report should be impartial and objective, and not represent a study done by order”.
As regards the letter of Robert Walter and his invitation to Artsakh, D. Babayan said: “We have repeatedly said when this may happen. If there is no reaction, no changes, then what are you talking about? I think everything is clear.
Babayan stressed that it is in the interests of authorities of the NKR that any such document would be objective and reflect reality. “Documents written by order and smelling of caviar are unacceptable to us. We do not want such things”, he said.
