Yes and No’ reality show: Situation in Armenia can also change without constitutional reform
The situation in Armenia could change for the better now too if there were the necessary preconditions, the head of the Public Opinion Research Center Tamara Gevorgyan said today while campaigning in Yeghegnut village of Armenia’s Armavir province during ‘Yes and No’ reality show ahead of the December 6 referendum on the constitutional reform in Armenia.
“You say that after a shift to the parliamentary system of government, our life will sharply improve. But the situation can improve now too if there is a will and the relevant personnel,” she said.
In response to her remarks, the member of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Karine Ajemyan said: “If everything were OK, in that case what did we intend to change? We know better than anyone else about grape procurement problems, about lending issues as the authorities deal with those problems. And in the process of state administration we realized that we have certain problems related to the system of government. The draft amendments to the Constitution of Armenia have been written for those who have complaints and claims”.
‘Yes and No’ joint television project of Armnews and A1+ Companies was launched on November 13. The reality show is broadcast by Armnews TV Channel 12 hours a day and can also be viewed at the website of A1+. 16 political and public figures travel to Armenian regions during the reality show. Two groups were formed, each consisting of 4 participants supporting and 4 opposing the constitutional reform. One team will be visiting northern regions of Armenia, the other will go to southern provinces. Their meetings with local residents are broadcast live on November 13 – December 2 from 11 am to 11 pm.
