It is important that the charge gained this year will not fade: Hayk Demoyan
The assessment of the year 2015 is positive, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum Institute (AGMI) Hayk Demoyan told a press conference today when summing up the results of 2015, which was a remarkable year for AGMI.
“We managed to organize all the events properly. It is not only my opinion, but also a view expressed by foreigners, Diaspora Armenians, and Armenian residents,” Demoyan said.
According to him, the events raised people’s awareness and helped them realize the need to speak about the consequences of those events.
“It is important that the charge that has been gained throughout the year will not fade. We need it in the coming years so as to ensure the security of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh,” the AGMI director said.
He at the same time noted that there may be a decline in the next few years, but there is no reason for concern – “the ongoing developments in the world make this subject topical”.
On the instructions of the Armenian president, the State Commission on Coordination of Events held on the Armenian Genocide Centennial will be transformed into a pan-Armenian council that will continue functioning, Demoyan said.
He told reporters that this year AGMI has held temporary exhibitions in about 60 cities in Armenia, Karabakh and abroad. Hayk Demoyan attached special importance to the exhibition “Armenia 1915: Paris Hosts the Collection of Yerevan AGMI” that opened at Paris City Hall on April 28.
