Loris Tjeknavorian thrills audience at Fajr festival

According to tehrantimes.com website, Iranian maestro Loris Tjeknavorian conducted Iran’s National Orchestra, leaving the audience thrilled on the fourth night of the 31st Fajr International Music Festival on Saturday.

The orchestra began with the Ararat Suite, a composition by Tjeknavorian, which narrates the story of Noah’s Ark when it came to rest on the Mountains of Ararat (Armenia), Persian media reported on Sunday.

“I always liked the story of Prophet Noah (AS)since my childhood and that is why when I grew up I composed a suite on Noah,” the musician, who is of Armenian origin, had earlier said in a news conference.

The performance continued with the suite symphonies “Pardis and Parisa” and “Salam” (hello).

What surprised the audience was the invitation of the conductor to accompany the choir with one of the pieces, bringing joy and excitement to the entire performance.

Enthusiastically received by the audience, love songs were among the other selections performed during the program.

Farhad Fakhreddini, the longtime conductor of Iran’s National Orchestra; Mohammad-Baqer Nobakht, the government spokesman; Transport and Urban Development Minister Abbas Akhondi; and Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Ali Moradkhani were among the members of the audience who watched and enjoyed the concert.

The 31st Fajr International Music Festival will be running until February 20.
