Head of the General Department of the Civil Aviation on cheap airline tickets
“You can visit the official website of Pobeda Airlines and see that the prices of the tickets start from 999 roubles. If I am not mistaken it makes up around 7500 USD,” Sergey Avetisyan, Head of the General Department of the Civil Aviation told the reporters during today’s briefing held in the government.
Notably earlier the department released a statement informing that Pobeda Airlines would carry out flights en route from Gyumri to Moscow and in the reverse direction. The price of the airline tickets will range from 10.000 AMD.
According to the Head of the Civil Aviation they are planning to turn “Shirak” airport of Gyumri as the one working for budget airlines.
“The ticket prices of Gyumri airport are lower. We made amendments in the law to eliminate state tax for the passengers departing from that airport. The tax totalling to 10.000 AMD is not imposed in Gyumri,” he noted.
In his words currently the Armenian side is conducting talks with several airline companies. He added that the operation of this airline in Armenia could have some impact on airline ticket costs.
