University of Łódź exposes Azerbaijan’s misleading information about dismissed “Armenian professor”
Employees of the University of Łódź in Poland exposed the misleading information about the dismissal of an Armenian professor of the university at the initiative of an Azerbaijani student named Fatima Shiraliyeva. The information has been published recently in the Azerbaijani media on behalf of the same student of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, website of the Armenian non-governmental organization Xenophobia Prevention Initiative reports.
According to the information, Shiraliyeva – an exchange student in the University of Łódź – reported that she had forced the university administration to dismiss professor Krakovyan, who put her a low mark at the exam, because she had chosen the topic about the Karabakh conflict. According to the student, as a result, she complained to deanery and got the “deserved” mark, while the professor was dismissed.
Xenophobia Prevention Initiative wrote a special letter to the university administration in order to clarify the situation.
“The answer from the University of Łódź was immediate: head of International Relations Office Liliana Lato kindly answered to our appeal and indicated that as a result of the conducted investigation, it turned out that a student with the given name really studied in their university,” the publication reads.
However, it is clear from the letter that the name Shiraliyeva has never been mentioned in connection with the problems indicated in the article, and nobody ever heard about the incident between the student and the professor with regard to the Karabakh conflict.
“Besides, it is highlighted that there are two professors named Krakovyan in the university, and the student had never had problems with any of them in the framework of the educational program. The most important is that none of the professors named Krakovyan was dismissed from the university, they continue to work in their departments,” the website writes.
Significantly, the university administration is not aware of the Armenian origin of the professors.
Armenophobia became a nation-wide activity in Azerbaijan and has reached such an extent that for a easy stay in this country one needs only to accuse someone that he is either "Armenian" or has "pro-Armenian views. At the same time, no one needs any proof, you just have to blame a person to become the favorite of the power. "Cases of no-Armenophobia are only a result of obligations towards the West. If a person will show hatred towards Armenians, the West would not cooperate with him," the Azerbaijani media wrote.
According to Azerbaijani media recently in articles and stories about Armenia and the Armenians published in the press the insulting speech, swearing and unflattering remarks is increasing. In early November, the head of the Examining Division, programming and analysts of the National Television and Radio Council of Azerbaijan Tavakkyul Dadashov in turn called on Azerbaijani media to continue using insulting speech in the articles about Armenia.
