Armenian Church Representative Assembly started its work in Etchmiadzin
The 6th Armenian Church Representative Assembly started its four-day meeting on Tuesday in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.
As the Information Department of the Mother See reports, the meeting is attended by over 150 delegates representing Dioceses around the world; as well as Locum Tenens, Primates, Bishops of the Mother See and the Hierarchal Sees, Pontifical Delegations, and members of the Supreme Spiritual Council.
The Assembly was opened at the Gevorgyan Spiritual Lyceum hall with the Lord’s Prayer by Member of the Supreme Spiritual Council, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian Bible Society Arch Bishop Yeznik Petrossian. He gave opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of the works of the Armenian Church Representative Assembly, in continuing the vibrancy and effective mission of the Armenian Church.
Then, the Catholicos of All Armenians offered his Pontifical blessings and remarks to the delegates of the Armenian Church Representative Assembly.
Church Representative Assembly is the authorized body of the National Ecclesiastical Assembly, which is the higher body of the Armenian Church. The Church Representative Assembly is held to discuss urgent issues in our Church life, make respective decisions and apple them.
