NATO hopes to see a new momentum in resolving the Nagorno Karabakh conflict that will be good for this entire region, Deputy Secretary General of NATO Rose Gottemoeller stated today in Yerevan at a press conference organized at Yerevan State University.

“I worked for the President Clinton back in the 90s and I remember the days of the crises then. I regret that twenty-five and more years have gone but the conflict is still unresolved,” Mrs. Gottemoeller said.

In her words, it is very important for Azerbaijan and Armenia to be working together. 
“I was glad that the foreign ministers [of Armenia and Azerbaijan] got together on the margins of the OSCE Ministerial meeting two weeks ago in Vienna. The President have met in October. I think that is excellent,” the NATO official added, pointing also to the fact that U.S Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was involved in the talks during the latest OSCE meeting. 

“I was delighted that the United State at a such a high level is again engaging as one of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs along with Russia’s FM Sergey Lavrov and their French counterpart. We are very positively glad to see the recent high-level diplomatic efforts,” NATO Deputy Secretary General said.
