Armenian FM attends meeting of CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Minsk
On a working visit to Minsk, Belarus, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian participated in the regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on Friday.
The meeting started in a narrow format, proceeding in an extended format afterwards in participation of delegations, the ministry said in a statement.
The meeting agenda included more than a dozen draft decisions covering a wide range of cooperation areas within the integration.
The foreign ministers exchanged views on pressing global and regional problems, dwelling upon issues on holding consultations between the foreign ministries of the CIS member states.
The ministers approved the draft agreement on cooperation against IT crimes, as well as the draft interstate program on joint anti-crime efforts for 2019-2023.
The participants of the meeting reflected on the international project “100 Ideas for the CIS” which aims at involving young people in settling issued faced by the CIS member states.
The next meeting of CIS Council of Foreign Ministers was decided to be convened in September 2018.
The CIS foreign ministers met with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
