Magnitude 3.3 quake hits Armenia
The Seismic Protection Service of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations registered a magnitude 3.3 earthquake in the territory of Armenia at 7:58 a.m. local time (GMT 3:58 a.m.) on Wednesday.
The service puts the epicentre 11km southwest off the village of Bavra (Shirak Province) at the depth of 10 km. Aftershocks measuring magnitude 0.8, 1.5 and 1.6 followed the earthquake.
The tremor measured magnitude 4-5 points at the epicentre.
Jolts were also felt in the second largest city of Gyumri with magnitude 2-3.
