Armenian, Artsakh FMs hold meeting in Stepanakert
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh Republic) Masis Mayilian met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who had arrived in Stepanakert on a working visit, press department at the foreign ministry reported.
According to the source, the two ministers noted with satisfaction the frequency of meetings and consultations held between the foreign ministries, stressing their importance in terms of enhancing the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of coordinated policy on different foreign policy issues .
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the priority directions of the foreign policy agenda of the two Armenian states as well as touched upon the situation in the settlement process of Azerbaijan-Karabakh conflict. The sides stressed the importance of maintaining the dynamics of the negotiations and the need to introduce political and diplomatic means of deterring Azerbaijan, aimed at ensuring the irreversibility of the peace process and regional security.
The sides also exchanged views on the prospects of the restoration of the full-fledged participation of the Republic of Artsakh in the negotiations, as well as steps aimed at the international recognition of Artsakh.
Later on the meeting continued in an expanded format, with the participation of the senior staff of the central office of the Foreign Ministry of Artsakh and the delegation of the MFA of the Republic of Armenia. A wide range of issues on further expansion and deepening of cooperation between the relevant departments were discussed.
Masis Mayilian awarded Zohrab Mnatsakanyan with a commemorative medal dedicated to the 25th anniversary of establishment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh.
