Armenia to have new ambassador in U.S.
Armenian President Armen Sarkissian signed a decree
appointing career diplomat Varuzhan Nersisyan as Ambassador of Armenia to the United States.
As the press service at the President’s office reported, the appointment came at the suggestion of the Prime Minister pursuant to Article 132 points 1 and 2 of the Constitution of Armenia.
Varuzhan Nersisyan will replace Grigor Hovhannisyan, and his is diplomatic residence will be in Washington, the presidential press service reported.
To note, Nersisyan served as assistant to Prime Minister.
