Yerevan mayor urges to remove illegally posted campaign posters
At the regular meeting, the mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, instructed to immediately remove the pre-election campaign posters hanged in unforeseen locations.
"I ask all responsible persons and heads of administrative districts to immediately remove all posters posted in illegal, unauthorized places and it does not matter which party it belongs to. In this sense we are a non-partisan body and we must ensure equality for all. If not permitted, posting of new posters should be immediately prevented so that the municipality does not spend money on removing them afterwards. In this regard, please be cautious. I also urge all the political forces to warn their candidates and not to allow such illegalities," the mayor said.
During the meeting the mayor was informed that the necessary steps were taken to ensure the accessibility of voters with limited physical capacities at polling stations during the snap parliamentary elections scheduled on December 9, 2018. The works in 308 out of the 475 polling stations are over.
