Peaceful settlement of the NK conflict top priority for Armenia – Ruben Rubinyan
The peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is a top priority for the Republic of Armenia, Ruben Rubinyan, Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs has stated on Thursday at a meeting with the Ambassador of France to Armenia Jonathan Lacôte.
As the press department at the parliament reports, Rubinyan has highlighted the need for the peaceful settlement in the context of the right of Artsakh people to self-determination, adding belligerent rhetoric and hate speech at the state level pose threat to the peace process.
According to the source, the parties have discussed issues related to foreign affairs and the activity of the Standing Committee which is acting as a coordinating body for parliamentary diplomacy.
Rubinyan and Ambassador Lacôte has pointed to the need for close cooperation between Armenian and French legislative bodies as well as at international structures.
