Armenian FM hosts French delegation led by Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Council head
Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan of Armenia received on Wednesday a delegation led by Laurent Wauquiez, President of France's Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Council.
Mnatsakanyan expressed confidence that the visit will contribute to the “further strengthening of the centuries-old Armenian-French friendship and ties between the two peoples.”
The officials exchanged views on issues related to the multilateral Armenian-French agenda, stressing the need for efforts to step up with mutually beneficial cooperation, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The two emphasized the importance of developing and implementing joint programs aimed at strengthening partnership in education and culture, as well as encouraging business ties.
The meeting also addressed the decentralized cooperation between France and Armenia and its opportunities. In this context, the parties also attached importance to boosting decentralized cooperation between Artsakh and France. Mnatsakanyan highly appreciated the continued efforts of the heads of the French local self-government bodies in this direction the core of which is respect for human rights.
The role of the Armenian community in the social and political life of France and as a bridge between the two countries was mutually valued.
