Armenia back in the EU's 'red list' for Covid-19 spread
Armenia slipped back into the “red” zone of the European Union amid a sharp increase in coronavirus cases in the country in the last few weeks. As the Ministry of Health reported, because of the growing Covid-19 numbers, the current travel restrictions for Armenian citizens will be severed.
As the source said, the recent update of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) which compiles the list of epidemiologically safe countries once in two weeks, is based on the epidemiological situation in countries, the daily reported cases and the vaccination rate.
The ministry reminded that at the beginning of summer Armenia was gradually moving to 'green' list, however, due to the spread of the delta coronavirus variant in the past month, Armenia is again considered as epidemiologically not safe country.
