Yerevan spent 1.2 billion drams to host European Weightlifting Championships
Around 1.2 billion drams have been spent to host the European Weightlifting Championships in Yerevan in April, Armenia's Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MoESCS) told Panorama.am in response to its request to comment on Friday.
“In my opinion, it was the most spectacular and exclusive championship in the history of the European Weightlifting Championships,” President of the European Weightlifting Federation Antonio Conflitti said after the event held in the Armenian capital from 15 to 23 April.
“I think that at the moment Armenia, Yerevan is the best candidate for hosting the 2024 World Cup. I will spare no efforts to make this happen,” stressed the Georgian expert,” he added.
After the end of the championships, Panorama.am submitted a query to the ministry to clarify how much money had been spent on it.
