Yerevan to host World Tourism Investment Forum for first time
The first-ever World Tourism Investment Forum will be held in Yerevan, Armenia, on September 6-8.
The three-day forum is held in cooperation with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
It will bring together influential decision-makers, investors and key stakeholders in the travel and tourism industry. The event will offer valuable insights into the global investment climate.
“Speakers from the U.S. Europe, and Dubai will talk about global tourism investment projects, as well as Armenia’s tourism potential,” Sisian Boghossian, chair of the Tourism Committee at the Armenian Ministry of Economy, told a news conference on Monday.
The focal point will be the current investment trends and challenges facing the tourism sector, Sona Hovhannisyan, head of the International Cooperation Department at Tourism Committee, noted.
“Tourism is one of the sectors most affected by Covid-19 around the world. The investment climate has significantly changed, so it’s necessary to find out which braches investors are most interested in,” she said.
Tours to Armenia’s regions will be organized for the forum participants to explore the country’s culture, cuisine and film tourism, Hovhannisyan added.
