Two soldiers detained over death of Armenian conscript Narek Torosyan

Armenian authorities have detained two servicemen in connection with the death of conscript Narek Torosyan, who was found dead at a military unit on Tuesday.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Investigative Committee said a junior sergeant has been charged with negligently driving a fellow serviceman to suicide under aggravating circumstances, while a private faces charges of the same offence.

Both suspects have been detained, and prosecutors have petitioned the court to order their pre-trial detention pending the investigation, the agency said.
