Ara Saghatelyan: Unification in information sphere very important
The 5th Pan-Armenian forum of journalists and mass media held in Stepanakert has raised serious concern in Azerbaijan, the head of the information and public relations center of the Armenian President’s Administration Ara Saghatelyan said at the forum, adding that it even more signifies the importance of united and coordinated cooperation of the Armenian mass media in Armenia, Artsakh and the Disapora.
“The unification is important in the context whether we will be able to unify our efforts, information and other resources to present and make our views and dispositions, as well as the facts and circumstances available to the international community through comprehensive methods,” A. Saghatelyan said, then highlighted that we should never ask whether we “will be able to” but should always make it: “we have to be able to”.
Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora unity includes a number of significant issues, like the international recognition of the Genocide and Nagorno-Karabakh, preservation of Armenian values, ensuring general development. To achieve progress in these and a number of other issues, great is the role of media, particularly the Diaspora media, because as you know, Azerbaijan continuously attempts to create Armenian-language websites to make own propaganda.
As far as the anti-Armenian manipulative information goes, A. Saghatelyan reminded the participants that it’s been a year since a special website was created to accumulate this information and the Diaspora not only is aware of it, but also participates in the hot line works.
A. Saghatelyan urged not to be limited with it and suggested to work out and implement a forum model to discuss the anti-Armenian approaches and the ways to counteract these.
