Caroline Cox: Azerbaijan terrified to face the truth
The people of Nagorno-Karabakh should have the right to join the negotiations over Karabakh conflict, Baroness Caroline Cox, the Chairwoman of British-Armenian Friendship Group, said in the National Assembly news conference today.
The members of the British delegation have also visited Stepanakert, where they had impressive meetings and are now back to Yerevan.
“It’s not me who should praise the people of Karabakh, but I’ve noticed that advancement. We heard in the format of the Minsk Group advancement has been recorded. It was Karabakh, who has made so many concessions in Minsk Group activities. Indeed, this is a serious issue and I would not like to speak on behalf of NK people. But I think that NK people should have the right to join the negotiations. I see, that the Armenians have performed the will to act on principles and it’s time for Azerbaijani to do the same,” Caroline Cox said.
Mrs. Cox thanked her colleagues for their visit to Nagorno-Karabakh. “I think that Azerbaijan is wrong to terrify the visitors of Karabakh. In fact, they are terrified to face the truth.”
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry declared yesterday, that they would verify the information and include the British MPs in their list of persone non grata.
