Expert says pro-Armenian actions in Turkey are traps
The actions being held in Turkey are outwardly pro-Armenian, Ruben Melkonyan, deputy dean of YSU faculty of oriental studies said in a meeting with the journalists.
“Those are interesting processes in a country where for decades the policy of denial used to be implemented. I profoundly doubt the frankness of those actions. Particularly one of those actions titled “Apologize to Armenians” turned to a political publicity,” R. Melkonyan said adding that one of the organizers of that action stated those projects contributed to cease talks over Armenian Genocide in many countries.
“Through outwardly pro-Armenian methods Turkey endeavors to change its political image. Those are traps wearing pro-Armenian masks,” expert said expressing hope that Armenian lobby could manage to adapt that new policy.
Referring to US President’s April 24 address, expert said the chances were zero.
