Reformed legislation for child trafficking defines years in prison, confiscation of property
Since 2005 five cases of child trafficking have been revealed in Armenia, in the aftermath of which 11 children suffered, lawyer at Center fighting trafficking, Davit Tumasyan said during Yerevan-Moscow video conference.
Irina Vikhrova, representative of Russian Human Rights Organization, expressed her surprise towards those figures, saying Russia suffers thousands of cases of child trafficking annually.
D. Tumasyan said that the legislation has been improved which now defines 7-15 years in prison, confiscation of property, suspending right to hold certain missions and positions.
