Less Armenian labor migrants to go to Russia next year, says demographer
The number of Armenian labor migrants leaving for Russia will decline next year, demographer Ruben Yeganyan told reporters on Tuesday.
In his words, most of Armenian migrant workers do construction work in Russia. Given the current developments, it is expected that Russia’s state agencies will cut the financing of the construction sector and as a result, less Armenian labor migrants will travel to Russia next year.
“The migrants have no alternative. They cannot go to Europe. The migrant flow to Kazakhstan may increase,” said the expert.
