Azerbaijani politician: Karabakh conflict remains unresolved dueto "hidden Armenians'' activities in Azerbaijan's state institutions

Azerbaijani politician JumshudNuriyev, who holds PhD in political science, in another contradictory interview with the Azerbaijani website Moderator.az stated that people who have “Armenian blood in their veins”should not be allowed to work in state institutions.

According to Nuriyev, he tried to find proves of several Azerbaijani officials’ Armenian origin in the archives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with lawyer Aslan Suleymanov; however, he did not have any success. The politician states with regret that the officials changed their documents in the archives under different pretexts, and it is impossible to determine their grandmothers, mothers, and wives’ real origin.

“The problem is that they became Azerbaijanis long ago. Siranushes turned into Solmaz, and Haykanushesinto Hafiz. The Armenian women mostly prefer the name Gyulzar,” he said adding with disappointment that the Armenians live in the best places in Azerbaijan and have the best positions: there are Armenian familieseven in the house where Nuriyev lives.

“The most horrible is that those Armenians changed all their documents. And when you want to prove it, the documents are not found: they are removed from the archives. There are 10 Armenian deputies in the parliament, whose mothers, grandmothers, or wives are Armenians. The DeputyPrime Minister’s wife is Armenian; however, he hides this,” he stated.

Taking into account that all the archives are cleanedout and it is impossible to proveseveral state officials’ Armenian origin with documents, the politician has worked out his own system of exposure. He says that according to the Azerbaijani tradition --unlike the Armenian one -- the photo of the deceased is not hung during funerals, and people, who hang the photo, are surely Armenians. As a proof of his methodology, the politician mentions the funeral of the Deputy Prime Minister’s mother, when her photo was hung on the wall.

“I knew about her Armenian origin, which was confirmed during the memorial events,”Nuriyevstatedconfidently.

Concerning the issue that the Azerbaijani officials have to hide their Armenian origin, Nuriyev clarified that during the Soviet period, the marriage of an Azerbaijani official with an Armenian woman was not a problem, just the opposite: those, who wanted to get promoted in their career, married Armenians, who, in their turn, supported their husbands.

“The Karabakh conflict will not be solved as long as people who have Armenian blood in their veins work in our state institutions,” he summed up adding that the conflict remains unresolved  due to the activities of the Armenians whohave changed their documents.

According to Azerbaijani opposition newspaper Musavat, Armenophobia became a nation-wide activity in Azerbaijan and has reached such an extent that for a easy stay in this country one needs only to accuse someone that he is either "Armenian" or has "pro-Armenian views. At the same time, no one needs any proof, you just have to blame a person to become the favorite of the power. "Cases of no-Armenophobia are only a result of obligations towards the West. If a person will show hatred towards Armenians, the West would not cooperate with him," the newspaper concludes.

According to Azerbaijani media recently in articles and stories about Armenia and the Armenians published in the press the insulting speech, swearing and unflattering remarks is increasing. In early November, the head of the Examining Division, programming and analysts of the National Television and Radio Council of Azerbaijan TavakkyulDadashov in turn called on Azerbaijani media to continue using insulting speech in the articles about Armenia.
