MES minister highlights the role of the Humanitarian Response Center during massive disasters
Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations Davit Tonoyan visited on Monday the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center which is unique in the region. The minister highlighted the role of the center and the scope of its work at the regional level
in response to massive natural and manmade disasters.
As the ministry reports in a release, Minister Tonoyan metwith experts of the central rescue units at Russian Ministry of Emergency Situation, holding regular trainings in the center.
The minister attended next the Crisis Management Center of Kotayk region and familiarized with its conditions. The minister instructed to modernize the technical program and create a single database to serve as a base for a unified system.
To remind, the Armenian-Russian Humanitarian Response Center was officially opened last year and is aimed at development and reinforcement of the possibilities and mechanisms aimed at the prevention of emergency situations and elimination of their consequences. It is aimed to foster regional cooperation and development, to amplify the protection of population and raise the level of rapid joint response to emergency situations in the region.
