Serzh Sargsyan receives congratulations from foreign leaders

President-elect Serzh Sargsyan receives congratulations on his reelection from leaders of foreign states. Among those who sent congratulatory messages are the Presidents of the French Republic, Ukraine, Islamic Republic of Iran, Lithuania, Lebanon, Republic of Slovakia, Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel, presidential press service reported. 

The message of the President of France Francois Hollande reads, “Dear Mr. President, please accept my warmest congratulations on your victory in the 2013 February 18 elections. I am confident that it will strengthen your resolve to shape a democratic, stable and prosperous Armenia, which is living in peace with all of its neighbors. I would like to reiterate that France stands ready to support your efforts undertaken in that direction.

After the elections, I also reiterate my resolve to do everything possible to achieve peace and stability in the South Caucasus. France - a Co-chair of the Minsk Group and Armenia’s friend – remains committed to assist in the long overdue peaceful and just resolution of the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict.

I take this opportunity to reiterate my personal attachment to the friendship of our two peoples. I am confident that our future bilateral undertakings will allow to strengthen our cooperation, particularly, in the economic area which in not at the same high level as our political interaction.”

The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych expressed confidence that the Armenian-Ukrainian cooperation will continue to develop on the strong foundation of friendship and mutual understanding. “Your years-long work and efforts aimed at the improvement of the living standards of the Armenian people have been once again broadly supported by the citizens of Armenia,” President Yanukovych said in his congratulatory message sent to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė in her congratulatory letter addressed to President Serzh Sargsyan expressed the hope that during his second term in office, the Armenian-Lithuanian relations in the economic, cultural and political areas will continue to strengthen. “I also wish that Armenia’s integration with Europe, which is gaining momentum, becomes a strong and mutually beneficial link binding together our countries,” the President of Lithuania noted in her letter.

The President of Lebanon Michel Suleiman, in his letter addressed to the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan congratulated him on the victory in the presidential elections and wished him success in his work. He expressed confidence that the high-level relations between the two friendly states and the Armenian and Lebanese peoples will continue to strengthen and develop in the same spirit.

President of Slovakia Ivan Gašparovič in his message reiterated the desire and interest of the Republic of Slovakia to continue the multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Armenia. “I am confident that the cooperation shaped by our countries will strengthen further. I hope that we will continue to develop our interaction and intensive dialogue between the governments of our states and the state leaders as well,” the President of Slovakia said in his message.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad expressed the hope that during President Serzh Sargsyan’s second term in office, Armenia’s advancement will continue at a greater speed.

“Stressing the readiness to expand friendly and strong relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia, I pray God to give Your Excellence great health and success, and prosperity and glory to the friendly people and government of Armenia,” President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in his message.

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi congratulated the President of Armenia and wished success in his great undertakings to ensure progress and prosperity aspired by the friendly people of Armenia.

The President of the State of Israel Shimon Peres congratulated President Sargsyan on behalf of the people of Israel and his own behalf and wished success. He expressed the hope that the relations between Armenia and Israel will continue to develop and strengthen.

President Sargsyan continues to receive congratulatory messages on his reelection.
