Red Cross International Committee will implement captive exchange operation

 “The International Committee of Red Cross, using its status of neutral mediator, is ready to implement the captive exchange operation,” Ashot Astabatsyan, the head of ICRC communication projects told Panorama.am making remarks to Armenian Defense Ministry’s statement issued on Monday.

Defense Ministry statement says that for the implementation of the agreement adopted on March 5 in Sochi by Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Red Cross International Committee Yerevan office was informed on March 14 that RA Defense Ministry was ready to patriate Azerbaijani captives.

Astabatsyan said that 2 Azerbaijani captives were kept in Armenia and 9 Armenians, 3 of which were military captives and 6 civilians, were in Azerbaijan.
